Having danced for most of my life, and with dance being a visual art form in itself, I’m interested in how movement can be graphically represented. This image was created using Eshkol-Wachman Movement Notation. It’s a way of writing down dances by plotting the angles of movement onto a 360 degree sphere, much like longitude and latitude are plotted on a globe. This enables the choreographic movements of a dance to be recorded, read back and recreated by a performer, acting just like the musical score of a musician.
